December 12
I am writing to thank you for your work on our behalf and to share
our experience with you so that potential clients can see it. On September 14th
of this year, my wife forwarded an email to me from her payroll department
informing her that they had received an IRS Notice of Levy and that her next
check would be in the amount of 300-something dollars. We had no warning of the
Levy; IRS had sent all notices and warnings to a 9 year old address, even though
they knew where my wife was employed and therefore were in a position to contact
her. Frantically, I began searching the Internet and phonebook for someone who
could help us. I contacted several of your competitors including
www.powertaxrelief.com, JKHarris, and www.ronideutch.com. None of them posted
their fees on their websites. When I spoke with them on the phone, they quoted
what seemed to be exorbitant fees, with no guarantee on their work. Being a
native New Yorker, I smelled "scam" all over these people. Distraught and
disheartened, I decided the next day to give up and just try to use the IRS
so-called Taxpayer Advocacy service. For some strange reason, I decided to
conduct ONE more internet search to see if I could find some help. I found you,
National Internet Tax Services. You seemed too good to be true. You
advertised reasonable fees. You guaranteed your work. You specialized in all of
the services we needed in one convenient place: IRS Wage Levy Release,
Installment Agreement, and Prior Year Tax Filing. Your clients raved about your
work. You had a thorough and self-explanatory IRS Wage Levy package (the "WLP")
to fill out that we could send to you to "get the ball rolling" on our Levy
Release.
That weekend, my wife and I carefully gathered all the paperwork
necessary per your instructions in the WLP, and filled out the requisite papers
in the WLP. We emailed it to you in .pdf format on Monday, the 18th.
Late that morning I had an opportunity to speak with you. There was actually
very little to speak about because with your comprehensive WLP and our efforts
to complete it fully, you were primed for the job. You ended our conversation
with words to the effect of "I hope to have this wrapped up by Thursday or
Friday."
To be honest, I thought to myself, "this guy must be out of his
mind." How can he promise these things? How can he be so cavalier? Our lives
were at stake! We were dead people walking, financially speaking! After my
conversation with you, I had my stepfather speak with several well-respected New
York City metro area attorneys. To a man, they all told him there was NO WAY
that you could do what you were guaranteeing to do. Their opinions ran the gamut
from opining that at best we would get a small reduction in the amount of the
levy AFTER a year or two, to advising to get a criminal attorney as far as
filing prior year returns were concerned. NOW my mind started really running
amok. I "Googled" you. No negative info of
any kind. Ok, you were legit.
Wednesday of that week rolled around and we hadn’t heard from you. My
wife and I debated "should we get in touch with him." We were of the mind that
no news was better than bad news. Finally, I sent you a "touching bases" email
to check the status of your work. You promptly replied that the IRS Wage Levy on
my wife’s paycheck had been released the previous day, and that you had already
faxed a copy of the Wage Levy Release to her payroll contact! Fiscally speaking,
we were Lazarus and you had raised us from the dead! My wife got her full check
that Friday. Disaster averted.
The next week we received from you in the mail a detailed Client
Information Packet, showing us the work you had done for us. Included were the
Wage Levy Release, the Prior Year Tax Filing figures, the Installment Agreement
payment amount (a reasonable sum), as well as your invoice and our receipt for
services rendered, for the exact amount you advertised and promised. As IRS Wage
Levy clients, you also offered your services as far as handling our returns in
the future. You also promised to retain Power of Attorney to handle any issues
that may arise out of your work for us.
Of course, I STILL was somewhat of a non-believer, even though the
Levy had been released with celeritous speed. The proverbial "other shoe" HAD to
drop. Maybe some problems would crop up. When IRS correspondence and an IRS
telephone conference revealed that indeed there were residual issues with our
account, I went "aha, I knew it was too good to be true." I emailed you in a
panic promptly for help. Not only did you email me back right away, you promptly
got on the phone with IRS to see what was going on with our account. You
immediately called me back to explain what was transpiring step-by-step, and
that we should not worry. This was all on a Friday night at about 8 pm your
time. You ended our conversation with the emphatic and heartfelt instruction to
contact you immediately if anything else came up in connection with our IRS
account and the work you had done for us. You did not leave us "hanging out to
dry."
Even though we paid a fee for your services, we feel like we can
never repay you. You have our email and home telephone. Please feel free to post
this testimonial on your web site, and to give our email or phone to any of your
clients or potential clients who would like a reference on your services. We
would be more than happy to give one.
Very truly yours,
The M***** Family
